WGTS 91.9 Teams Up With Listeners to Take Care of Haitian Orphans

WGTS 91.9 listeners gave from the heart again by sponsoring children in Haiti during a recent Micah Tyler concert in Virginia. For the last few years, WGTS has worked side by side with Holistic Haitian Alliance (HHA) to support the Kay Anj Village in Haiti.

For three years the station helped to raise money for HHA by rappelling off the top of a hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia, for an event called “Over the Edge.” This year, the two organizations decided to do a benefit concert instead.

How Can a Truck Lead To More Compassion?

WGTS listeners brought 8,100 pounds of food to the truck at four locations in the region to help provide food for families affected by the government shutdown and the decrease in food benefits.

Thanks to generous gifts from listeners who caught the vision, WGTS 91.9 has welcomed a new member to their team, a ministry box truck that will allow WGTS to reach more people with the love of Jesus.

Starting in the last quarter of 2025, WGTS staff used this vehicle to bring hope to the region through Hands and Heart projects and Sticker Stops, Christian concerts, along with special events at schools and churches.

WGTS 91.9 Ends Fair Season with Anne Wilson Concert

WGTS 91.9 wrapped up the fair season with an incredible performance from country-Christian artist phenom Anne Wilson. Over 2,000 people gathered in the grandstand of the “Great Frederick Fair” to sing along with new hits like “God Story” and “My Jesus.” “Caleb and John” kicked off the night with their high energy style including their song “Hallelujah Feeling.”

“It was a great mix of “My Jesus,” cowboy boots, and funnel cakes,” said WGTS director promotions and community engagement, Ken Scribner. “This was a very different crowd, and they were so into the music. We’re going to go anywhere people are praising Jesus, and this was a great night under the stars.”

This is the third year that WGTS has partnered with the “Great Frederick Fair” which is one of the largest fairs in the state of Maryland.

Frederick Church and WGTS Host Jordan Feliz Concert

More than 3,500 people gathered on Aug. 23 for an outdoor summer concert with Christian artist Jordan Feliz on the lawn of the Frederick Church in Maryland. The event, held in partnership with WGTS 91.9, marked the conclusion of the station’s 10th annual Summer Concert Series and was the best-attended concert of the 2025 season.
